Two designers based in Scotland have joined forces to produce the unique trophies, that will be presented at this years prestigious Scottish Sports Sponsorship Awards.  The event is being hosted in Glasgow by Dougie Donnelly and Matthew Pinsent, on the 23rd March 2004, in recognition of the excellence and creativity across Scotland’s vibrant sport sponsorship scene. When Gordon Lochhead was approached to design and make a suitable trophy, he quickly realised that it would help to collaborate on this project with Joanne Moody, whom he had met at workshops organised by Glasgow's Lighthouse design centre.

Joanne Moody of Broughty Ferry based Little Ironies, and Gordon Lochhead of Fife based Silversculpture, designed and manufactured the distinctive cylindrical trophies.

Inspired by the strength of sporting partnerships, the two-part trophies will be split on the night between the winning business sponsor and their team or athlete.

“…We worked closely with Sports Scotland to create a collection of trophies that capture the real essence of their sports sponsorship awards.  The two interlocking halves symbolise the mutual and continuing support that sport sponsorship can give” said Joanne Moody

“Our collaboration was helped enormously by using cutting-edge 3D-modelling computer technology,” said Gordon Lochhead, “which meant we could clearly illustrate our ideas, and communicate them very directly to our client…”

Silversculpture, founded in 1979 by Gordon Lochhead and Little Ironies, a creative Design Company owned by Joanne Moody.  Two unique companies with distinct catalogues of experience, proving how partnership can be the key to success.
